Assist a luxury fashion brand in midtown Manhattan with the entire collection development process, from research to sampling.
🎯 About the Role
This internship offers a comprehensive view of creating a collection in a small, close-knit environment. You will work closely with the design team and local factories, gaining practical experience in garment construction and sampling.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- 🎨 Research design inspiration, fabric manipulation, and embroidery techniques.
- 📋 Creation and maintenance of design boards.
- 🧵 Assist the team in fittings and the development process.
- ✂️ Work with woven patterns and placements for prints and embroidery.
- 🏭 Collaborate with the team and local factories through the sampling process.
- 👕 Cut fabrics and maintain the in-house atelier.
- 📸 Assist in styling, photoshoots, and shows.
✅ Requirements & Skills
- 🎓 Fashion design or related field of study.
- ✨ Excellent creative research skills.
- ✍️ Strong drawing skills.
- 📐 Pattern making/sewing skills.
- 🏗️ Basic understanding of garment construction.
- 🎨 Knowledge of Adobe Suite.
- 🗣️ Strong communication skills and ability to be an effective team member.
- ⏰ Strong time management and organizational skills.
- 🌟 A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm are key.
- 🔀 Quick thinking and adaptability.
- 🏠 Must currently live in the NYC area and be able to commit to a minimum of 3 days a week.
- 🔗 Must provide a portfolio link with the application.
