🎯 About the Role
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test Apprentice to join our Quality Engineering function for a structured 12-month apprenticeship. This full-time apprenticeship is designed for someone who wants to build a strong foundation for a career in software engineering. Apprentices will work on real testing and automation initiatives supported by mentorship and technical guidance.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- 🚀 Develop and test software, contributing to product quality.
- 🛠️ Work with automation frameworks, API testing, and defect analysis.
- 🔄 Engage with CI/CD processes and software quality practices.
- 🤝 Collaborate with experienced SDETs and software engineers.
- 📝 Write ADRs, review designs, and carry on-call context.
✅ Requirements & Skills
- 🎓 Completed term in a recognized open source mentorship or contribution program, with merged work.
- 💻 Working fluency in Go, or demonstrated depth in another systems language and ability to learn fast.
- ⚙️ Comfort with distributed systems fundamentals.
- 🐳 Familiarity with containers and Kubernetes.
- ✍️ Habit of writing things down (design docs, commit messages).
- 📅 Graduation timeline that allows for full-time conversion at the end of the term.
