Mechanical Maintainer – Mobile Equipment Apprentice

This apprenticeship provides comprehensive training in the diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenance of heavy mobile equipment. You will learn to work with complex systems including hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical components, contributing to the company's legacy of manufacturing high-quality steel.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• 🔧 Receive work assignments, instructions, and drawings for equipment repair and maintenance.
• 📈 Analyze schematics and diagnostic equipment to plan working procedures.
• 🛠️ Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems.
• ⚙️ Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on mobile heavy equipment.
• 🔩 Dismantle, clean, inspect, rebuild, repair, and lubricate equipment and components.
• 🏗️ Operate overhead electric cranes and mobile equipment for material transport and delivery.
• 🧹 Perform miscellaneous tasks including record-keeping and maintaining a clean work area.

✅ Requirements & Skills

• 🎓 High School/GED and 1 year of experience as a mechanic on heavy mobile equipment or completed trade/vocational school on locomotive repair.
• 🚗 Current and valid driver's license preferred.
• 💪 Ability to climb and work at heights, lift heavy objects, and operate vehicles.
• 🌡️ Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
