Senior Acquiring Disputes Analyst

🎯 About the Role

This role specializes in the management, investigation, and resolution of acquiring chargebacks and card scheme disputes. You will be responsible for analyzing transaction activity, identifying dispute trends, and contributing to risk control and process improvements, ensuring compliance with card scheme rules.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• 🔄 Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of acquiring chargebacks, representments, and arbitration cases.
• 🔍 Analyze high-value and complex chargeback cases to determine legitimacy.
• 📝 Review and submit compelling evidence packages to overturn invalid claims.
• 📊 Investigate disputed card transactions and analyze merchant activity.
• 🏛️ Act as a subject matter expert on card scheme rules and dispute processes.
• 🤝 Liaise with payment processors, acquiring partners, and internal stakeholders.
• 📈 Monitor dispute trends, root causes, and emerging risks.
• ✅ Ensure all dispute activities comply with card scheme requirements and policies.
• 💰 Support reconciliation activities relating to chargebacks and fees.
• 💡 Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
• 📊 Produce high-quality case reviews and management information.
• 🧑‍🏫 Provide guidance and support to colleagues on complex dispute scenarios.
• 🤝 Work closely with Product, Operations, Risk, Finance, and Acquiring teams.

✅ Requirements & Skills

• 📈 Minimum of 3+ years' experience in chargebacks, acquiring disputes, or card payments.
• 📜 Strong understanding of the end-to-end chargeback lifecycle and card scheme dispute rules.
• 💳 Experience working with Mastercard, Visa, or other card scheme regulations.
• 🔎 Proven ability to investigate complex dispute cases and analyze transaction data.
• 🧐 Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• 💬 Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• 🧘 Ability to remain calm under pressure and exercise sound judgement.
• 🚀 Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and root cause analysis.
• 🧠 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• 🧾 Experience supporting reconciliation activities is advantageous.
• 👩‍🏫 Previous experience mentoring colleagues or providing subject matter expertise is desirable.
• 💲 Knowledge of acquiring, merchant services, or payment processing is highly beneficial.
