Human Services Intern

Learn the day-to-day operations of a Day Report Center and gain experience in case management and client services.

🎯 About the Role

This internship offers comprehensive exposure to the functions of a Day Report Center, including client intake, supervision, and linkage to community services. You will develop professional judgment and contribute to client accountability and support.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• 🤝 Observe and participate in case manager duties.
• 🏠 Facilitate new intakes and explain program components.
• 🚶 Conduct face-to-face supervision appointments.
• 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Identify and link individuals with community-based services.
• 📚 Conduct skill-building activities during supervision.
• 🗣️ Engage in team meetings and make recommendations for violations.
• 💻 Enter tracking data in WCS AWARDS and CORE databases.
• ⚖️ Make recommendations to the Court, District Attorney’s Office, and DOC Agents.

✅ Requirements & Skills

• 🎓 Seeking students in the human services field at the associate's, bachelor's, or master's level.
• 📜 Adhere to agency Code of Conduct, policies, and confidentiality laws.
• 🤗 Sensitivity toward cultural, ethnic, and disability issues.
• 👂 Duties require good hearing and ability to communicate verbally.
• 👆 Hand and finger dexterity for data entry and typing.

⏳ Duration: Minimum of one semester and at least eight hours per week
