This internship focuses on evaluating photoplethysmography (PPG) for cuffless blood pressure tracking, aiming for early preeclampsia risk detection. You will work on sensor stability, signal acquisition, and edge-case testing.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- ⚡ Firmware Development: Program microcontrollers to stream PPG and accelerometer data.
- ⚙️ Data Jitter Control: Ensure stable sampling rates and eliminate packet lag.
- ⏱️ Time Synchronization: Align sensor signals with reference BP readings.
- 📊 Signal Quality Testing: Collect pilot data under physical edge cases.
- 💾 Storage Formats: Log biosignals into structured binary, HDF5, or Parquet files.
✅ Requirements & Skills
- 💻 Core Tech: Embedded C/C++, Microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, ESP32, etc.).
- 📡 Communication: SPI, I2C, UART, high-speed USB/Serial.
- 🐍 Data Parsing: Python for logging, synchronization, and serialization.
- 💡 Sensor Integration: Experience with optical biosensors (PPG) and IMUs.
- 🔬 Instrumentation: Familiarity with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debugging tools.
