Information Security Engineer Intern

🎯 About the Role

This internship offers opportunities within Principal's Technology Engineering department, focusing on various aspects of Information Security. You will work on real projects, collaborate with team members, and receive mentorship to understand and contribute to the firm's cybersecurity posture.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• 🛡️ Monitor, detect, investigate, and respond to security threats (Cyber Defense Operations).
• 📝 Establish security policies, standards, and controls, and manage risks (GRC).
• 🔑 Design and support identity and access management solutions.
• 🕵️ Monitor user activity to identify insider threats and risky behaviors (Insider Risk).
• 🔒 Implement controls to protect sensitive data (Data Protection).
• 🤖 Develop and maintain automated solutions for security operations (Security Automation).

✅ Requirements & Skills

• 🎓 Currently pursuing or completed an undergraduate degree in a science, technology, engineering, or math-related field.
• 🏆 Involvement in student organizations or prior internship experience.
• 🗣️ Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with a strong work ethic.
• 💡 Passion for technology, technical curiosity, and critical thinking skills.
• 🌟 Leadership experience, previous IT internship, or proven continuous learning are beneficial.
• 💻 Interest/experience in information security technologies, programming/scripting languages, automation tools, cloud platforms, DevOps, Agile methodologies, or cybersecurity frameworks is a plus.

💰 Compensation: $32 - $34 / hour
