Pharmacy Intern

Compound and dispense medications and pharmaceutical supplies under the supervision of a shift supervisor in an inpatient hospital setting.

🎯 About the Role

This role involves compounding and dispensing medications, filling prescriptions, and providing clerical support within the inpatient pharmacy. You will adhere to hospital and departmental policies, ensuring patient safety and accurate medication management for various age groups.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• 💊 Compound and prepare medication emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments.
• 📦 Fill prescriptions from bulk stock and package medications.
• 🏷️ Type labels for medication and IV solutions.
• 🧾 Price patient medications and complete charge slips.
• 📦 Receive and stock ordered supplies.
• 🚶 Make rounds to deliver prescriptions.
• 📞 Provide phone support and assist in department maintenance.

✅ Requirements & Skills

• 🎓 Courses completed 1st sem of the college of Pharm curriculum.
• 🏥 CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days.
• 📜 Licensed Pharmacy Intern in NM or obtain w/in 90 DOH.
• 💪 Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
• ⚠️ Working conditions may include minor hazards like physical risks, dirt, dust, fumes, noise.
