Harness Design Engineer Intern (Winter)

Design and test crucial spacecraft harnessing components for high-orbit satellites.

🎯 About the Role

As a Harness Design Engineer Intern, you will work on designing flight and test harnessing for spacecraft. This role provides a unique opportunity to apply electrical engineering fundamentals to real-world hardware that is destined for space.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• 🔧 Work with the harnessing design team on designing flight and test harnessing.
• 📊 Create wiring diagrams, block diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings of spacecraft harnessing.
• 🔗 Work with cross-functional teams to define interfaces between different subsystems.
• 🖱️ Use CAD programs to route harnessing in 3D.
• ⚡ Utilize EE fundamentals to select appropriate design components based on various requirements like voltage, power, frequency, and data-rate.
• 🏭 Work with production to fabricate in-house cables.

✅ Requirements & Skills

• 🎓 Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in mechatronics or electrical engineering (or equivalent technical degree).
• 🚀 Interest in learning about, designing, and working with various spacecraft systems and subsystems.
• 🔌 Familiar with power and data transmission concepts.
