Exhibit Installation Intern

Gain practical experience in art handling, installation, and exhibit preparation within a professional arts organization. This internship provides a hands-on educational opportunity for students pursuing art-related fields.

🎯 About the Role

This internship offers students from the University of Vermont or Saint Michael's College the chance to develop professional skills in exhibit installation and art handling. You will assist with off-site installations, database management, and other functions within Burlington City Arts. This is an unpaid position for academic credit.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• • Assist with off-site exhibition installations, including art hanging and handling.
• • Participate in packing and transporting artwork.
• • Update and maintain the Vermont Artist Database.
• • Assist with exhibit preparation and administrative functions.
• • Provide gallery day-to-day and visitor services.
• • Support special projects and other BCA functions.

✅ Requirements & Skills

• • Currently enrolled student at the University of Vermont or St. Michaels College for credit.
• • Demonstrated interest in the arts (studio art, art history, etc.).
• • Ability to assist with artwork installation, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• • Familiarity with Windows OS, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
• • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• • Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
