Mechanical Design Engineer – Intern

🎯 About the Role

This internship focuses on creating detailed CAD models, supporting prototype builds, and documenting test results. You will work on small sub-assemblies and contribute to design for manufacturability reviews.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• 🔧 Create CAD models and drawings with GD&T using SolidWorks.
• 🔧 Support prototype builds and test-fixture fabrication.
• 🔧 Run basic FEA/tolerance checks and document test protocols.
• 🔧 Prepare BOMs and liaise with vendors for parts procurement.
• 🔧 Maintain an organized lab environment, including inventory and equipment logs.

✅ Requirements & Skills

• 🎓 Pre-final/final year B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech (Mechanical/Mechatronics) or recent graduate.
• 💻 Proficiency in SolidWorks and familiarity with 3D printing.
• 🧠 Strong grasp of mechanics of materials, fits & tolerances.
• 📝 Clear written documentation skills and a willingness to learn.

💰 Stipend: As per FSID/IISc norms

⏳ Duration: 6-9 months
