Intern – Emergency Preparedness & Operations

Contribute to ensuring hospital readiness and operational resilience by supporting emergency preparedness and crisis management initiatives within a leading university hospital.

🎯 About the Role

This attachment is designed for undergraduates to apply learning in public safety, crisis management, and resilience within a healthcare environment. You will support the NUH Operations Centre in developing plans, conducting exercises, and managing projects related to various emergencies.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• 📝 Support the review and updating of emergency preparedness plans and SOPs.
• 📚 Conduct research on emerging risks and preparedness practices.
• 📊 Assist in comparing requirements against existing arrangements and documenting gaps.
• 🏋️ Support planning and execution of drills and preparedness activities.
• 🏥 Support selected preparedness projects focusing on areas like Mass Casualty Incidents and infectious outbreaks.
• 📈 Compile and analyze preparedness-related information and operational data.

✅ Requirements & Skills

• 💡 Interest in emergency preparedness, crisis management, public safety, and healthcare operations.
• 🧠 Good analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• 📊 Able to conduct research, organize information, and present findings clearly.
• 🗣️ Good written and verbal communication skills.
• 🤝 Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across clinical and non-clinical departments.
• 💻 Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• ⏳ Minimum full-time commitment of 25 weeks from Jan 2027.
