RheinForge Systems is a defense-technology company building autonomous UAV and UUV platforms. This internship provides an opportunity to work on field-deployable hardware, where your design decisions directly impact the airframe's performance and reliability.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- 🏗️ Design and develop precision mechanical components and assemblies for UAV platforms.
- 🔬 Perform structural analyses using FEA software like ANSYS Mechanical.
- ⚖️ Drive structural performance through topology optimization and weight reduction.
- ⚙️ Integrate various subsystems into the platform while ensuring manufacturability.
- ✅ Support fabrication, assembly, and testing, correlating simulation with experimental data.
- 📄 Produce detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
✅ Requirements & Skills
- 📚 Solid understanding of mechanics of materials, machine design, and structural dynamics.
- 💻 Hands-on proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CATIA, or Creo).
- 📊 FEA experience with ANSYS Mechanical, Abaqus, or equivalent.
- 💡 Ability to translate simulation results into defensible design decisions.
