Industrial Design Intern (Mechanical/Product Design)

🎯 About the Role

This internship focuses on solving real engineering challenges in the development of smart hardware products. You will create production-ready CAD models, design for various manufacturing methods, and work closely with cross-functional teams.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• ⚙️ Design complex mechanical assemblies for smart hardware products.
• 🖱️ Create production-ready CAD models and optimize designs for manufacturing.
• 🖨️ Design parts for 3D printing, CNC machining, and injection moulding.
• 🔄 Develop gear trains, motion mechanisms, and torque transmission systems.
• 💡 Prototype, test, and iterate mechanical components.

✅ Requirements & Skills

• 💻 Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (preferred); experience with Fusion 360, Creo, or Onshape is a plus.
• 🧊 Hands-on experience with 3D printing and knowledge of its related processes.
• 🏭 Understanding of injection mould design principles (DFM).
• 🧠 Ability to design complex geometries and compact electromechanical assemblies.
• 🔗 Good understanding of gears, torque, motors, bearings, shafts, springs, and mechanical power transmission.
• 📈 A portfolio showcasing CAD models, prototypes, or mechanical projects.
