Educational Assistant Sub Pool

Eugene School District 4J is seeking qualified candidates to join their ongoing pool of educational assistant substitutes.

🎯 About the Role

This role involves performing a variety of clerical and instructional assistance tasks to support the educational process in a classroom setting. You will help facilitate the smooth operation of the educational program by assisting teachers and tutoring students. The position may require adapting curriculum for students with limited English proficiency.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• 📚 Assist teachers in preparing lessons appropriate to the level of instruction and tutor students one-on-one or in small groups.
• 📝 Collect, sort, and correct lessons and tests, record grades, and file classroom materials.
• 💻 Prepare classroom materials using current office technology and production equipment.
• 🧑‍🏫 Supervise students during activities, record progress and behavior, and assist in lunchroom or health room duties as needed.
• 📦 Maintain an inventory of supplies, complete purchase orders, and stock shelves.

✅ Requirements & Skills

• 🤝 Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse students, staff, and community populations.
• 💡 Instructional and behavioral management skills.
• 💻 Ability to use current office technology and computers, including word processing software.
• 🌍 Experience differentiating practices for diverse populations.
• 🎓 Completion of at least two years of post-secondary study (72 credit hours or 48 semester units), an associate's degree or higher, or meeting a rigorous standard of quality through an academic assessment.
