🎯 About the Role
This internship offers hands-on experience in the research and development of contemporary art exhibitions under the supervision of the Assistant Curator. You will contribute to upcoming exhibitions by conducting art historical research, preparing research dossiers, and drafting exhibition materials.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- 🎨 Conduct art historical research for contemporary art exhibitions
- 📝 Prepare research dossiers and draft exhibition didactic labels
- 🗣️ Create public-facing presentations on art and exhibitions
- 📦 Provide curatorial and administrative support for upcoming exhibitions
✅ Requirements & Skills
- 🖼️ Demonstrated interest in contemporary art history; material culture, craft, or object-based research is a plus
- 🎓 Enrolled in a graduate program in Art History, Studio Art, Museum Studies, or related field
- 🔍 Precise attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines and multiple responsibilities
- ✍️ Excellent writing, editing, analytical, and communication skills
- 🤝 Collaborative attitude, tact, and discretion
- 💻 Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with TMS or other databases is a plus
- 🧑💼 Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and communicate professionally
- 🌟 Interest and enthusiasm for the arts and the ICA’s mission

💰 Compensation: $19 / Hour
⏳ Duration: October 2026–May 2027
