🎯 About the Role
This internship offers a comprehensive look into museum work, including collection management, inventory, and creating finding aids. You will also have the opportunity to assist with accessioning, exhibit design, event planning, and potentially complete a specific museum project.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- 🏛️ Examine and assist with inventory of museum collection
- 🗂️ Organize collection materials and create finding aids
- 🗣️ Provide tours of the museum site on occasion
- 🌟 Assist with accessioning and exhibit design
- 🎉 Assist with event planning and programs
- 🤝 Complete a specific museum project (topic approved)
✅ Requirements & Skills
- 🎓 Enrolled in a degree or certificate program in history, public history, museum studies, or related field
- 💻 Basic computer skills – Google Docs, Sheets, etc. (CatalogIt experience a plus)
- 🧠 Knowledge of history, research, and writing processes (a plus)
- ✅ Responsible, conscientious, self-motivated
