Financial Operations Intern

Support the Finance and Accounting teams in a fast-paced cannabis technology company with hands-on exposure to billing, cash application, and collections.

This part-time role offers practical experience in financial operations, focusing on billing, cash application, collections, and partner payment processes. You will assist with a range of operational tasks to ensure smooth functioning of these processes and support month-end close activities.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• 📞 Support collections efforts by engaging with customers to resolve payment issues.
• ✅ Apply customer payments to appropriate accounts and ensure accurate record-keeping.
• 📊 Prepare regular reports on payment status and cash reconciliations.
• 📈 Support month-end close activities and financial reporting.
• 📧 Work closely with cross-functional teams to address payment inquiries.
• 🗂️ Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation.
• 🚀 Assist in developing and implementing new processes to enhance efficiency.
• ❓ Investigate and respond to payment questions and requests.

✅ Requirements & Skills

• 🎓 Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 🧐 Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• 🗣️ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• ⏱️ Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
• 💻 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial or billing software is a plus.
• 🤝 A collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn financial operations fundamentals.
• 🤖 Experience with or exposure to AI-powered tools, with an interest in leveraging AI for efficiency.
