🎯 About the Role
This role offers multiple entry points for aspiring and experienced fleet mechanics, focusing on preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and equipment. You will work in a garage environment, with potential for emergency call-outs and disaster team involvement.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- 🔧 Perform preventive maintenance services, lubrication, and safety inspections.
- 🛠️ Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on vehicles and equipment.
- ⚙️ Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve faults.
- 🚚 Perform road calls and field repairs, including recovery of equipment.
- 🧑🏫 Mentor and provide technical guidance to lower-level mechanics and trainees.
- 📄 Prepare accurate work orders, parts lists, and inspection documentation.
- ⚠️ Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and safety regulations.
✅ Requirements & Skills
- 🎓 High school diploma or equivalent.
- 🔧 Basic mechanical aptitude through education, training, or experience.
- 🚗 Valid driver’s license required.
- 🚛 Must obtain a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements within 11 months of hire.
- 🥇 Minimum 2 years of relevant automotive maintenance experience for Fleet Mechanic I.
- 🏆 Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible automotive maintenance experience for Fleet Mechanic II.
- 📊 Must possess and maintain required ASE certifications (specifics vary by level).
