🎯 About the Role
Join the Slurry Center of Excellence team and gain hands-on experience with characterization techniques for solid-state battery electrolytes. This role is ideal for individuals pursuing chemistry or materials science and interested in contributing to essential projects within the battery industry.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- 🧪 Execute planned experimentation to optimize synthetic and process routes for electrolytes
- 📊 Assist in material characterization, data acquisition, and analysis
- 🧹 Perform regular and required housekeeping
- ⚠️ Handling and proper disposal of hazardous materials
- 🗣️ Communicate experimental results and participate in planning
✅ Requirements & Skills
- 🎓 Pursuing Chemistry, Materials Science, or related degree
- 🔬 Experience in material characterization techniques (rheology, DSC/TGA/SDT, XRD, FTIR, EIS)
- 🧪 Experience in synthetic and/or analytic chemistry
- ✅ Comfort with safe handling of hazardous materials and equipment
- 🔋 Knowledge of Li-ion battery materials optimization
- 💻 Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
💰 Compensation: $25/hour
⏳ Duration: Fall semester
