🎯 About the Role

As a Software Engineer on the Droid Planning Team, you will work hands-on with autonomous robots to enhance their delivery capabilities. You will analyze real-world data, design experiments, and develop models to improve the robot’s reliability in unpredictable environments, directly impacting operational safety and efficiency.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• 🤖 Work with and iterate on a state-of-the-art autonomous system.
• Flight data analysis to identify performance improvements for motion planning.
• 📊 Design and run validation experiments to measure success rates in real-world conditions.
• 💡 Develop tools and pipelines to evaluate motion planning models and quantify uncertainty.
• 🤝 Collaborate closely with perception, autonomy, and flight testing teams.
• 🚀 Gain experience with the end-to-end process of deploying autonomy at scale.

✅ Requirements & Skills

• 🎓 Currently pursuing a Master’s in CS, EE, Robotics, or related field.
• 💻 Proficient in software development and writing safe, performant code.
• 🧠 Strong statistical reasoning and validation mindset.
• 🧩 Structured problem solver with the ability to break down ambiguous problems.
• 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Able to work in person and thrive in a collaborative, hands-on environment.
• 🧠 Familiarity with learning-based planning methods is a plus.
