What reviewers look for in a student portfolio is not polish so much as reasoning. Three projects that each explain the problem, the constraints, what you tried and what you changed after feedback will outperform twelve finished-looking screens with no context. Include at least one piece where the first attempt did not work, being able to describe why is the clearest signal that you can actually be worked with.
For product and UX roles specifically, employers increasingly expect some familiarity with how designs get built: components, states, handoff. You do not need to write code, but understanding what a developer needs from your file is a genuine differentiator at intern level, and it is learnable in a weekend.
