Marketing internships are among the most accessible roles for students without a technical background, and among the most variable in what they actually involve. The same title can mean running paid campaigns with a real budget, writing blog posts, managing an Instagram account, or cold-calling a lead list.
That variation is worth taking seriously when you choose where to apply, because the skills do not transfer evenly. Performance marketing, content, brand and social are increasingly separate career tracks, and an internship spent on one does relatively little for your application to another.
