Product Development & Quality Process Engineer Intern

Assist in optimizing paper machine processes, focusing on product development, quality, and cost efficiency.

🎯 About the Role

This internship involves assisting the Production Team at the Stevens Point Mill to achieve safety, quality, production, and cost objectives for a paper machine process line. You will evaluate product improvement projects, support process monitoring and optimization, and learn to use key engineering software systems. The role provides an opportunity to grow and develop in a team-focused environment.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• 📈 Evaluate product improvement and cost optimization projects.
• 🔧 Assist with machine shutdowns and start-ups.
• 💻 Learn and support process engineers with specialized software (Proficy, Centerlining, etc.).
• 📊 Monitor, analyze, and optimize process quality and conditions.
• 📉 Reduce environmental impact through process improvements.
• 💡 Provide technical support and problem-solving skills.
• ⭐ Assist or lead projects related to safety, productivity, and quality.

✅ Requirements & Skills

• 🎓 Enrolled in a Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or similar Engineering degree program.
• ⭐ Strong technical aptitude and proven problem-solving abilities.
• 🗣️ Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• 📍 Willing to relocate to Stevens Point, Wisconsin for Summer 2027.

💰 Compensation: $27.00 per hour
