🎯 About the Role
This internship focuses on assisting the Production Team at the Stevens Point Mill to meet objectives in safety, quality, production, and cost for a paper machine process line. You will evaluate projects, support process monitoring, and gain experience with engineering software. The role offers a valuable chance to develop skills and contribute to continuous improvement in an engaged, team-focused setting.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- 📈 Evaluate product improvement and cost optimization projects.
- 🔧 Assist with machine shutdowns and start-ups.
- 💻 Learn and support process engineers with specialized software (Proficy, Centerlining, etc.).
- 📊 Monitor, analyze, and optimize process quality and conditions.
- 📉 Reduce environmental impact through process improvements.
- 💡 Provide technical support and problem-solving skills.
- ⭐ Assist or lead projects related to safety, productivity, and quality.
✅ Requirements & Skills
- 🎓 Enrolled in a Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or similar Engineering degree program.
- ⭐ Strong technical aptitude and proven problem-solving abilities.
- 🗣️ Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- 📍 Willing to relocate to Stevens Point, Wisconsin for Summer 2027.
💰 Compensation: $27.00 per hour
