Journalism Intern

Gain hands-on journalism experience reporting and writing for a dedicated newsroom covering the Applied Behavior Analysis field.

🎯 About the Role

This paid internship offers the opportunity to write real stories that publish under your byline, covering the critical and evolving field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). You will work directly with the editor/founder, receiving mentorship and developing practical skills in news reporting and writing.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• 📰 Report and write news pieces and short features.
• ✍️ Transform dense source material into clear, readable copy.
• 💡 Pitch story ideas and develop a deep understanding of the ABA beat.
• 🚀 Learn about business/M&A, policy, clinical practice, and careers in ABA.

✅ Requirements & Skills

• 📝 Strong writing ability, demonstrated through clips, student media, or a test piece.
• ⏱️ Curious, reliable, and able to meet deadlines.
• 🎓 Currently a student or recent graduate (journalism, comms, English, or strong writing skills from any major).
• 📍 Based in or near Lake Forest, IL and able to work in the office.

💰 Compensation: $15 - $18/hour, based on experience

⏳ Duration: Part-time, ongoing.
