New Product Introduction Intern

Play a hands-on role in bringing new magnet manufacturing processes from development into scalable production, bridging shop floor execution with data-driven engineering.

🎯 About the Role

This internship offers direct exposure to scaling advanced manufacturing operations in rare earth magnet production. You will work closely with the NPI team to document processes, execute experiments, and analyze data to support production readiness.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• 📝 Create, update, and refine Work Instructions and SOPs.
• 📊 Support the update of Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, and PFMEAs.
• 🤝 Partner with Quality and Production teams for process handoffs.
• 🧪 Assist NPI engineers in planning and running process experiments.
• 📈 Collect and compile experimental data for process capability analysis.
• 📉 Track yield trends to identify scrap drivers and inefficiencies.
• 📊 Perform statistical and yield analysis on sample build runs.

✅ Requirements & Skills

• 🎓 Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• 🔧 Strong foundational understanding of core manufacturing engineering principles, statistics, and engineering documentation.
• 💻 Proficient in MS Excel or statistical tools (Minitab, JMP, Power BI, Python, or R).
• 🔍 Strong attention to detail and eagerness to observe shop-floor operations.
• 🗣️ Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• 💡 Basic familiarity with APQP, PPAP, PFMEAs, Control Plans, or measurement equipment.
