Mentor students aged 7-18, teach them to code in various languages, and help them develop programming logic.
🎯 About the Role
As a Code Coach, you will mentor students, teach them to code, and help them think like programmers in a fun and engaging after-school program. You will join a supportive team of instructors passionate about technology and teaching.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- 👨🏫 Mentor students (1:1 or 2:1 lessons) in Scratch, Snap, Python, JavaScript, Java, or C++
- 🎮 Students build games, apps, and projects based on their interests
- 👨🏫 Teach small group classes following a structured curriculum (block-based coding and Python)
✅ Requirements & Skills
- 🌟 Passion for inspiring kids and sharing your love of technology
- 🗣️ Strong communication skills, patience, and positivity with students and parents
- 🎓 Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 🐍 Knowledge of basic Python and willingness to learn advanced Python and block-based coding (Scratch)
- 🌐 JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Java, Roblox (Lua), Minecraft block coding are helpful but not required
- 💡 Unity is a bonus
- 👨🏫 Teaching experience in any subject is a plus
- 🇺🇸 Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- 🚗 Must be able to commute and work in person in Branford
💰 Compensation: $18/hour
